Santhanu Bhagyaraj makes his debut

Santhanu Bhagyaraj after a lackluster debut in Tamil with Sakkarakati, is now going to try his luck in Malayalam. He is going to do a film titled Angel John, under the direction of Jayasurya.

Superstar Mohanlal will do a cameo in the film, which is the story about a wayward young man Maradonna who is cause of trouble for his parents and friends. One day he decides to commit suicide by walking into the sea. However a stranger who is watching him from the beaches come to his rescue, and his life changes forever.

Santhanu will play Maradonna, while Mohanlal will play his guardian angel. Bhama is the heroine, along with other noted artists like Jagathy, Sooraj Venjaranmoodu, Bheeman Reghu, Ambika and Geetha. Music is by Ouseappachan.

The film made under the banner of Creative Team is written and directed by Jayasurya who earlier made the Dileep film Speed Track. “It is a humorous film made with a lot of emotions that will pull your heartstrings, “says the director.

Santhanu’s mom Poornima actually made her debut as the heroine of Fazil’s first film Manjil Virinja Pookkal in which Mohanlal also debuted as villain. The Poornima Bhagyaraj family is close to Mohanlal. Remember Santhanu’s sister Saranya did a brief role in his Photographer, a few years back?

Let us hope Santhanu gets a hit in Malayalayam which is facing a shortage of saleable heroes. He cannot get a bigger break than Angel John, which is also distributed by Mohanlal’s Max Lab Entertainments. The shoot of the film will start in Thiruvananthapuram from July 1.
