Karthika (Her real name is Lidiya) is getting married on May 18 to Merin Mathew Thevalakara St Mary’s Orthodox Church at 10.30 am.Merin is a medical officer at Blue Mount hospital in Michigan, US and Karthika confesses that she met him through common friends and their friendship turned into deep love through internet chats and mails.
When it comes to settling down after a brief stint in films, Malayalee girls take the cake. After Manju Warrier, Divya Unni, Samyuktha, Nandana, Nitya Das till Gopika – all actresses have got married to their co-actors or some NRI guy and settled for marital bliss. Karthika, who entered Malayalam with Vinayan directed Oomappenninu Uriyada Payyan. Later she went on to do 15 films including Meesha Madhavan, and many others. Says Karthika: “When the wedding date was fixed, the first person I called up and informed was Vinayan sir who is my Godfather”
Karthika made her Tamil entry as Sarath Kumar’s heroine in Namnadu and her films in Kollywood include Pulan Visaranai-2, Dindigul Sarathy, Naale Namathe and Arumaname.
Karthika also tells us that she will be joining Merin in US only three months after wedding as she has to complete her present assignments in Tamil like Noothukku Nooru and Palaivanacholai..
