Veteran actor Thilakan has played the best screen “father” of superstar Mohanlal in various Malayalam films.
Who can forget Thilakan’s awesome performance as Lal’s Achan in classics like Kireedam, Spadikkam and Narasimham?
Now nearly after a decade Thilakan and Mohanlal are coming together again in Rosshan Andrew’s new untitled film written by James Albert for producer Antony Perumbavoor.
Says noted director Bhadran : “ My Spadikkam worked big time because of the performance of Thilakan as the disciplinarian Mathematics teacher and Mohanlal as his wayward son. They had tremendous understanding which ignited the on-screen spark between the two.”
But for the last few years they fell out over petty issues regarding the artists association AMMA. Thilakan in a nasty interview to a leading Malayalam daily had blasted the superstars (Mammootty and Mohanlal) for all his problems.
Now let us hope that they have buried the hatchet and will start on a clean slate for the audiences sake. There is nothing better than watching two performers battling out their acting skills on the big screen.
