Comedy capers are back in Mollywood

After 2 Harihar Nagar’s super success Mukesh, Jayasurya and other comedy actors films have found buyers in Kerala. The failure of superstar’s films have also made the market take a second look at comedy capers.

Currency features Mukesh, Jayasurya, Kalabhavan Mani, Meera Nandan, Mammu Koya, Anoop Chandran etc. is releasing on May 1. Debutant director Swathi Bhaskar directs this full-fledged entertainer produced by Brij Gill and Monica Gill.

The script is different from the usual entertainers that one sees on the screen. Music is composed by Siddharth Vipin. Says Swati: “I have always been fascinated by the concept of currency, in which a simple sheet of paper acquires several times its value once it gets printed as currency. I read a newspaper report, during my stint in Hyderabad, about a boy who got picked up by cops for dealing in counterfeit notes. All that influenced me to write this story”
